Our last day on the water was the best yet. On my first run out body dragging Wiep spotted Dan and we stopped and watched him surfing around us, it was so amazing to see him up close. He is now cruising up and down, only sinking to turn. Back on shore Wiep said that I was ready to go out body dragging on my own. I admitted I was really scared – kite surfing feels a lot more dangerous than any other water sports we've done. I'm most scared of the lines getting caught round my hand and something called de-gloving happening. (very unlikely apparently but still sounds horrific).

Anyway after he promised it would be ok, I manned up and went for it. Amazingly, as soon as you’re not dragging someone else behind you everything becomes much easier and less painful (the leash and harness dig in, bruising your ribs). I LOVED it! Without the extra weight I was also being dragged right out of the water when I did power strokes, flying like superman – brilliant. I wasn’t even crashing the kite anymore. Dan also appeared again, whizzing around me.

Unfortunately at the end I let myself down and did an unnecessary self-rescue thinking a line had broken. Apparently my two of the previous days really were unlucky and its very unlikely that anything will go wrong. Nevermind I’m very well practised in case it does now! I’ve taught Dan as his school didn’t bother. Back on shore I managed to see Mikey surfing!!!!! I was so excited about how well he was doing, but his instructor said he had been even better the run before and was now tired. He said it was the most incredible feeling being up on the board and actually being able to relax and ,look around

Over lunch on the beach, we all agreed we’ve loved kite-surfing and can’t wait to have a go at home. We were all falling asleep over meals though so went back to the rooms for a siesta before our last night together.

The amazing pizzas at the Italian called us back and we stuffed ourselves again before more messing around in shops and on the moped and then card playing and beer drinking with the security guard at the resort. He is always very happy to have us there as otherwise he just sits and smoke and kills mosquitos with his electric tennis racket all night.
