Where I stayed
traveller idea thus far but this gathered group at Harmony Hostel all very quickly bonded and we have made some good friends. As a result, the farewell party went on much too late, never a good idea with a trip to the airport on the cards. We will pay for that tomorrow!
We made our way over to Hotel Darusaade to say goodbye to Mum and Dad. We had spent the early morning chatting with Graham and Robin, our new New Zealand friends. We look forward to catching up with them in Napier in a few months time. Pols and I also had to work out what kit was making the cut for India, the rest we dragged round to stuff into parents case for the flight back to UK. They had left us a space but it took some jumping up and down to do up the zip. We had a last coffee and chat before their airport shuttle bus arrived. The guy was in a hurry which was probably just as well as we were all a little upset. Off they went and Pols and I ambled back to the hostel reflecting on a great week. The rest of the day was spent doing nothing, something which we haven't done for quite a while. All of our new friends from the hostel have found much amusement in the fact I have lost my beard, some not even recognising me at first glance. The packing for the flight to India is proving to be very difficult. I think we are both a little spaced out by the fact that in the next day or so we will be cycling in a different continent, very much into the unknown. Polly has done a good deal of research but true to form, our route remains very fluid. The evening was spent up on the youth hostel roof terrace. We have not really joined in with the whole
