Of all the hotels ın the world, you had to walk ınto my one.  They lıterally dıd.  Overnıght 2 guys, one from Salısbury and another from Parıs had checked ınto the hotel.  They had met that day both havıng WALKED from theır home towns.  Adam had been on the road for 8 months, ıt was so ınterstıng to sıt at breakfast and compare experıences.  Hıs end poınt ıs Istanbul and we hope to catch up wıth hım there when he arrıves next week.  For us, ıt ıs now only 2 days away and ıt represents a major mılestone ın our lıttle bıke rıde.  Today was a really easy rıde compared to the battle of yesterday.  We left town (Polly stoppıng to photograph some hılarıous Turkısh weddıng dresses) and got on a nıce steady road, hammerıng out the fırst 20 mıles ın just an hour and a bıt.  The Turkısh folk are very excıted to see us.  Every passer by gave a honk and a wave.  Kıds very excıted to say HELLO.  The weather ıs amazıng, so hot (Roast Turkey, get ıt now? Good huh?)  Clımbıng some of the hılls today wıth the sun beamıng down was a real sweaty affaır, possıbly warmıng us up for Indıa ın 2 weeks tıme.  We passed through a couple of towns but there was not much else to report about the rıde.  The people here have been so warm and frıendly, we need to work on some basıc vocab but ıt ıs amazıng what can be exchanged just by wavıng and smılıng.  IT was good to arrıve ın Saray at 3pm.  We slowly cruısed around town to look for a bed.  It ıs good arrıvıng ın such hectıc places on a bıke.  On foot there ıs no escape from those too eager to assıst, on a bıke you can go around and around and fınd thıngs ın your own tıme.  We dıd and the hotelıer was very pleased to see us.  Usual routıne of unpackıng bıkes and haulıng all bags up flıghts of staırs.  We are now out and about enjoyıng Saturday evenıng.

Lost for words!! What an epic week.

You seem to have made friends all along the way which is wonderful and certainly giving your taste buds a bit of a challenge along the way. It looks like a fairly gentle ride to Istambul but I expect that that is just deceptive. Hope the weather stays kind to you and you never said wether or not you had a swim in the Black Sea.

So good to hear from you again.

All love Jojo and Christopher

Yes, I was wondering about the swim too. However Jojo and I checked the temperature in Istanbul today and it was 14degrees - so maybe not. Some of that journey looks absolutely staggering you two - both in good and bad ways. Just a tip with bed bugs - I was always told to pull back the covers on a bed and sit on the clean sheet - not on the quilt or blanket - well might help. Well done again you two - hope to talk very soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Nevilles
I hope you had a good saturday night out in Turkey - any belly dancers or is that just for serious tourists? Just had Sunday lunch all on our own! Most strange experience - E is with Charlotte (and Olaf of course) in Cornwall on some sort of amazing St Morits spa hotel break with champagne, three course dinner and spa treatments (where do they dream these things up!) George has got his nose down in his studies which seem to be going very well and they have exciting news but I will leave it to George to tell you all about that. Amanda is having a w/e in London and is going to get a short ho;liday sking with Bailey's - it could be at the same time as E&G are sking with Peter and Edith which is fine - CJB and I will have just got to get into gear for looking after the No 1 person in the world together for a day or two.
Back to Sunday lunch - it was 'just chicken' but bothered to do the bread sauce and for the first time in my life a made a sorbet - apples from the garden and so we really spoilt ourselves and had Calvados poured over it - just georgeous! We are also looking after Mandy's dog Monty who (fingers crossed) seems to be behaving very well, if a bit like Olaf, everything found goes straight into mouth!
Time now to light the fire and look forward to Antiques Road Show (even though CJB goes apopleptic sic whenever he sees Fiona Bruce) and the programme what everyong has been waiting for - the final episode of Downton Abbey sheer bliss. But don't think that we are not thinking of you two all the time though and we are so filled with admiration for what you have done and what is ahead.

All love Jojo and Christopher

Hi Mikey and Polly, we're so enjoying reading your blog and think that you're both amazing. Can't believe the amount of cycling you're doing each day, it's tiring us out just thinking about it ! Keep up the good work and have a great time in Turkey with Dave and Ellie. Lots of love Sue and Den.

Hi there, amazing and I am so dumb struck, it's really excitign to catch up with your travels, which you, as only you can, play down too much 'our little cycle ride' honestly what are you like Mike? Anyhow I know how much you dislike praise, so just put you back into it and stop faffing around (only joking), take it easy and take care, nothing new to report from Midhurst except we're missing you loads, take care both of you and look forward to hearing the next instalment, Istanbul is an amazing assault on the senses, be prepared ! xxxx

Hi Mike & Polly
Having been gutted at not having my Friday fix of your adventures, I checked to see if something new today & found all your updated bloggs. This is so much better than reading a book .... you two should put some of this into print.
I feel exhausted from reading your adventures but also in shock by your never ending energy!
Thank you so much for sharing all this ... announced in morning briefing on Friday & all wanted to know where you had got to. We also had a chat about your adventures in an 'attendance meeting' today .... aren't you just so glad your life is so much more exciting.
All at MRC send you their very best wishes.
Enjoy Turkey .... hope you get to have that roast!

Hey... how about this for worlds apart..... long slow drive in the rain to work, a rubbish day at work, they had to open the adverse weather centre coz Hampshire had soooo much rain! Me & Andy have just spent a long weekend in Blackpool (not very exotic but full of cheesey fun!!) and am sat here on my sofa, full of cold & in my PJ's... a whole WORLD apart from you two in the Turkish sun! Loved Turkey, even though only did the touristy bits of Marmaris & Bodrum, one day will make it to Istanbul so can't wait to read on. Have a fab time with Dave & Ellie too, enjoy yourselves.
Lotsa love,
Tracy

Hello! Cannot believe you guys you are amazing!

All good here. Starting to get very sad that Polly poo will not be here for chrsitmas. Think the consensus is that we will have it at Clare Malc's as seems to be easiest for everyone and my house still mostly looks like a very unattractive buildng site to be. (Sitting room is nearly finished so we are making some slow progress finally!)Think she may be into skype so maybe we can try and link up with you??? It's 19th December, not sure where you'll be by then, must be half way up India?
My exciting news is that my Dad has bought the most amazingly cute puppy who will be coming to stay with us when dad is abroad. Hoping he won't eat the rabbit! Pictures on my facebook if you have time to look!
Also bought a new and supposedly fancy convertible car (which was actually very cheap, but it looks fancy). All going terribly well until this week's torrential down poor which was all together too much for the aging fabric roof and I now have to drive around being rained on! That'll teach me to try and be cool!

Have an amazing tim in the rest of Turkey. Miss you loads!

Had just come in from a run feeling very smug. Then read your blog about the epic cycle and realised that getting lost in Graylingwell on a short evening run doesn't actually qualify me for athlete of the year. We loved Turkey when we went there for the first time this year. Saw Tricia's visa photo last week. Am still reeling from the shock! She has even surpassed her previous passport photo that drove me to an hysterical fit. Anyway am off to cook athlete's pasta supper. Love to you both. XXXXXX

Hope you are having a lovely well earned rest with family and enjoying Istambul - I always thought it sounded so exotic. Well it's Sunday again - so a big shepherds pie for CJB, Me, EJB,AMB and Dominic (and Olaf of course) but George is still head down in navigation - he puts into practice whathe has been learning next week ending up in Dublin ( I think and depending on accuracy!)
What a week that was though - thought we were going to have to launch Echo from car park as most of Bosham seemed to be flooded and I nearly drowned the dog in Taylors Lane which was totally awash - even Emsworth hit the national papers as cars were floating away.

I tried out a bit of ciruit training on Thursday and was exhausted just by the warm up - still I will try out the Gym tomorrow and it will probably kill me I am so unfit.

I've got a new all singing dancing computer - very fast and it has come with a flat rubber key board - I/m certain I can put in through the wash when it get dirty!

Looking forward to hearing all you news all love Jojo and Christopher
