Bratislava connects with Bosham

We left the hell hole of a campsite early, it wasn't so bad in the light but we were pleased to see the back of it. As we packed up the tent, three chaps plunged naked into the lake. We were in two layers of coats and gloves so they must have been really cold. The 5 mile ride back into Bratislava was an eye opener. It was really harsh, big warehouses, deals being done from the boots of cars, pavements and roads potholed. It was good to get back to the Old City and see some sights. We found ourselves a nice hostel which gave us a much needed clean room and hot shower. The city looks good fun but there are clear differences appearing now we move further east. A misunderstanding with a rude little waiter resulted with him calling the police. Rather than waiting to see if he was bluffing I paid the extra for the food we had not ordered (!) and left. He had a huge chip on his shoulder about something, nevertheless, we are clearly going to have to be a little more on our guard as we move on. The afternoon was a real day off, wnadering around the beautifully relaxed and compact Bratislava. A heavenly internet cafe provided chance to skype our buddies from Williams Road. We had been well prepared by a great Italian meal and every one on both ends of skype were in a Friday mood. We even saw baby Olaf asleep in his cot, beautiful. On the way back we felt a little sad about missing all our friends but chuffed that we had seen them all, we popped into a twenties bar and enjoyed Baileys latte for about a pound ( this country is beautifully cheap). Excellent day off, Bratislava is well worth a visit again sometime.
