Enjoyed breakfast back in Melk opposite a funny little toy shop which sold Polly Pockets (no longer small enough to fit in your pocket).  We set off to St Polten.  The damn head wind had not died and it continued to hamper our progress.  I remember Mark Beaumont saying the worst part of his round the world ride was across Australia riding all the way into a head wind, I can fully understand how that must have nearly broken him.  We chose a longer gravelly bike track which was another bad call.  I had to pop into a corn field and have a look around.  The noise of the combine harvester drove me out pretty quickly.  At St Polten we wified in a cinema cafe (!).  Vienna West Campsite became our target as a result of our research, 36 miles.  Cracked on to Bohiemkirchen where we had delicious salami, gherkin and Emmental roles on horrible park bench in the middle of no where.  I had to put my arm in a manky bin to get the spoon I had thrown away with the rubbish.  Drizzly and cold we did the 15 miles to Pressbaum where we had Viennese cream coffees and a very punchy pink cake soaked in something lively.  It was just us in there with lots of OAPs, they were all on the vino, why not (should be a question mark here but I cannot find it on this damn keyboard).  We got to Vienna and negotiated another tricky big city entrance.  Tent up super efficiently and into shower, quite unbelievably as Polly enjoyed the steamy power shower I was still messing about with a trickling freezing cold excuse of a shower, this keeps happening.  We used the camping cooking room which saved us from the rain and spoke to a strange Romanian guy who said we will have to be careful in Romania of the drivers.  Bed now, grand tour of Vienna tomorrow.
