We were in the first group to leave and had to be at the airport by 5:00 - we got there at 5:30 am and the flight ended up delayed so all was fine.

Henry accompanies each vanload to make sure everything goes well, so we had him, mary Jane and Susan with us.  As early as 4:30 am there are people along the roads waiting for buses to take them to work. Hugs all around when we got out of the van.

Due to our delay we ended up seeing Barbara and Joanne waiting at the American gate next to Continental.  We really admire their adventurous spirit and hope to be traveling at that age ourselves.

As usual, big letdown at the end of a trip! (although it is always nice to see our kids and pets!)

I am so grateful that one day a few years ago a visiting priest came to Our Lady of Guadalupe parish where we used to belong, and preached on CFCA.  I'm so grateful that Pat spotted a little girl named Veronica, like his mom, and chose to sponsor her.  Now we have fallen in love with Veronica, her family, the CFCA family and the country and people of El Salvador.  I doubt we will ever get to visit the 14 year old boy I sponsor in the Philippines.  But I understand now how very important it is to keep writing those letters and saying those prayers for our sponsored children.

We chose to sponsor a  little girl from La Realidad on this trip.  Her name is Daniela and she is a year old.  We are also checking into a little boy we met on the trip, and will probably be sponsoring him too.  We had thought about sponsoring outside of El Salvador, but we love it so much there, we want to keep going back!  We hope to return in 3 years.

I hope you enjoyed the blog and might consider checking out CFCA!  I can guarantee you, your money goes where it is needed, and your sponsored friend is treated with the utmost dignity and respect!!  And if you ever are fortunate enough to participate in a MAT, you will be welcomed with open arms and experience quite possibly the best week of  your life!  I know we did!
