Where I stayed
House guest of Kenny and Diane
Up around 8am and went down stairs for coffee with Diane. After a casual visit she left for work and we headed for my old house on Lawler Ave where I lived as a small child until I was 6 yrs. Old. The earliest memories I have of my childhood happened here. I took some pictures of the neighborhood and house. It was nice reminiscing about the days long ago. Our friend Mike, whom I grew up with and Dave met in vietnam grew up next door then later after he was married he bought the house two doors down. Oh so many memories....
We also passed by the church we use to go to, St. Mary Star of the Sea. My brother started 1st grade here and I just remember going to church.
The traffic all the way from Kenny and Diane's house was horrific. It took us over an hour to go about 20 miles. The Chicago area roads are all being upgraded/repaired. You cannot drive more then two miles and not find yourself in a construction zone. At least most of the construction areas are being worked on, unlike the rest of the country where a lot of the zones didn't have a single person working.
After getting back to the house we relaxed and watch a bit of TV with Diane. Before we knew it Kenny came home from work and we got ready to go to dinner at the Red Lobster. Kenny and Diane treated us to a delicious meal. When we got back to the house Kenny insisted that we watch a movie called Borack. A comedy beyond description!!!
It may not sound like much of a day but it was filled with many wonderful memories.
God bless the memories of my parents, Rose and Alfred Latecki, Babe and Vic Croy (the old neighborhood neighbors), As well as the rest of the friends that have given me so many treasure to remember. And do not forget my many friends who will be reading and looking at these pictures.

Hello Patty and Dave, want you to know I am reading your blogs but haven't had time to write until today. Please be assured that you continue to be on my mind and in my heart. I have been caring for William, Taylor and Ty most of the remainder of summer and working as needed. I have taken the boys to lots of things and very tired at days end. I am impressed with the way your trip is progressing and continue to keep you in my prayers for a safe journey.
So glad you're enjoying your long lost relatives so much that you're staying with them longer than planned. Keep enjoying and making lasting memories! Stay happy and healthy on your journey.
P.S. I enjoyed seeing where you grew up.
It is always so nice to see home. You both look great and like you are having a wonderful time. We miss you both but will wait with love in our hearts for your return. Enjoy and stay well. You are in our prayers and in our hearts.
