Where I stayed
House Guest of Evie Merkel
Cereal for breakfast this morning then off to Penzeys spice store. This store has just about any spice you want or need and then some. We had fun sampling all the different kinds and types and combinations of spice at the store. They have a catalog and you can order through their website at www.penzeys.com. Their 60+ page catalog is loaded with many different spices and seasonings from which to choose. I highly recommend you check out the website for a look see. They also make suggestions on how you can use a specific spice. One of my favorite is the Rocky Mountain Seasoning combination ~ A versatile blend of Parmesan cheese, bell peppers and shallots.. You can simply sprinkle it on a salad or add it to your special foods.
Next stop to the Fair Oaks Mall because Evie wanted to get her hair cut. They had a beauty parlor in the mall just for young ladies. I'm sure you will enjoy some of the pictures of the little princess getting her shampoo, cut and dried. Her hair dresser's name was Rita and she just got a kick out of Evie. When we walked into the shop Evie walked right up to Rita and told her exactly what she wanted and asked her if she could please trim her hair just a little off the ends. Rita said that all the girls rely on their moms to describe what they wanted, but not Evie, she knew exactly what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to ask.
After the beauty parlor it was off to lunch at Joe’s Crab Shack. We had a waiter with a great personality and more than willing to take the time describing to us the menu selections. Michelle and I shared a crab feast for two, Dave had fried clams and Clam Chowder soup and Evie had a child’s plate that would have been more than enough for me! While we were waiting for dinner there was a play area for the kids. So Evie had a great time crawling over, under and through the equipment. When it was time to go she started crying because she was having so much fun she didn’t want to leave.
We got back to the house just in time for her to change into her tae Kwon Do uniform with her white belt. We hurried off to her Do Jo for class. It was only a couple of minutes from the house. We really enjoyed watching her while she was exercising and doing her Tae kwon do kicks and punches. Dave got a kick out of the jumping-jacks and sit-ups. Between each routine the 4 tiny students counted 1 – sir – 2 – sir – 3 – sir, etc. until they got to 10.
Another good day! We are not sure what tomorrow will bring, but we know it will bring more wonderful adventures with a beautiful Princess. Good night all my friends and may God Bless each and every one of you.

Evie's getting big and her hair is soo long! As you know she's just 1 year younger than Joelle to the day. Enjoy your time with her and say hi to Michelle.
I am amazed at the flexibility in Evie. Every bow is all the way down, forehead to the floor. This will teach her balance, grace, poise, self-control and, unfortunately, give her something more effective than merely biting the other kids.
Wow!!! How grown Evie is getting!!!! She is not a baby any more!!!! She looks like she is having fun with the tae kwon do. Please give them my love.
