Where I stayed

Wow did I have to change the name of this entry.  We planned to stay in the Boston area but decided to push south as far as we could.  There is a tropical storm headed toward the northeast USA and we decided we wanted to be as far from that potential storm as possible.  This resulted in a 14+ hour ride today!  We hit all our desired marks for the day including riding in Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey.  There may have been others but it is very late and I'm tired.

We left north of Bangor Maine at 7:00am and arrived at our hotel here near Trenton New Jersey at 9:30pm.  The weather was great with light winds and no rain.  The temps remained cool except for when we got bogged down in New York City traffic.  Overall the ride was great and we saw some wonderful countryside in New England.  New York City was a different story.  The traffic was very slow.  We took 30+ minutes to get across the George Washington bridge and it was stop and go the whole way.  Once in New Jersey, it was clear sailing.  So clear we hit the EZ Pay side of the toll booth and never got a ticket for our tolls.  OOPS.  When we got off the Turnpike, we confessed to the toll taker and she was very nice and helped us out.  Tolls are quite a challenge as you go into different states as they all seem to work differently.

Anyway, we got to our hotel and got the last available room.  We are settled in and going to hit the sack soon.  We tried to get in touch with Walt (from our CMA group) who recently moved to the area.  We hope to have a late breakfast with him if timing works.

Keep praying for us.  Your prayers have protected us from any harm, given us good health and kept the skies clear and temps very moderate.  We are loving life (even though we both have tired tailbones tonight).

God Bless you all!
Paul

BTW, no pictures today.  We stopped at a beautiful viewpoint in New England this morning and the camera battery was dead.  We missed photo ops in all this great countryside as well as the New York skyline, etc.  You'll just have to trust us, it was great.
