It was quite a productive day at least if you consider riding a lot of miles, productive.  We left Paul's dad after breakfast in Albert Lea, MN and headed east on I-90.  Our first stop was in LaCrosse, WI for fuel.  We then headed east for another 140 miles before we stopped for fuel again.  The countryside is so green with all the corn and soybeans in full growth mode.  We saw a lot of wind turbines as we crossed southern Minnesota too.  It is amazing to see them for miles across the farmland.  Each one is HUGE.

We crossed Wisconsin and into Illinois.  We decided to take a little longer route and skirt the Chicago-land area.  It took us a few miles out of our way but traffic was much lighter and we could click off miles rapidly.  From Chicago, into Indiana and we decided to change our route to get to Niagara Falls earlier tomorrow.  We headed north from our planned route into Michigan and will cross into Canada at Detroit/Windsor, ON.  Now we have to figure out how to get back to Ohio to be sure we still get all our 48 lower states on the trip.  That problem is for another day I guess.

We rode hard and long and by the time we pulled into a Country Inn and Suites we had racked up 625 miles for the day.  We are both pretty tired but again, the weather was great, the roads were very good and we had a fun day.  Tomorrow we will have a short ride into Niagara Falls (the Canadian side) and we have booked a great room as a treat for getting this far in the trip.  Our good friends Nita and Cactus told us to stay at the Sheraton Falls-view on the Canadian side and we booked a "view suite" as a treat for the night.  We want to arrive early enough to see things before the sun goes down because the next day we'll be heading out for Quebec City.  Anyway, those tidbits are for future posts so just forget them, okay...

God bless you and thanks for praying for us.
