After a day of hanging around the campsite, we were ready to take another hike. We took the shuttle to the Avalanche Creek stop along the Going-to-the-Sun Road. The hike to Avalanche Lake begins on the Trail of Cedars, an easy boardwalk trail through a mature forest of primarily red cedars and hemlocks. From there, we took the trail to Avalanche Lake. The trail runs alongside Avalanche Creek, then winds its way through more forest on the way up to the lake. The weather was perfect, the scenery gorgeous and the hike moderate. Perfect!
