Just a quick blog to get that map updated and fill in our last day. Yesterday we rented bikes in Amsterdam for the day, which happened to be the rainiest day of the whole trip. Still, it was probably a good thing that we had the bikes on a Sunday, since the streets were pretty deserted. We managed to cover most of the important part of the city in a few hours, with a falafel stop while it rained heavily.

We took it pretty easy the rest of the day, then grabbed our backpacks at the hostel and walked to the train station. Since we had an early flight this morning, we slept at the airport. Whoever decided to put arm rests on those airport benches does not deserve to live, as I had a comfortable, warm night on the granite floor. At least we found a quiet corner of the departures area, and it was pretty safe too with armed security guards walking around.

Finally made it home at around 2 this afternoon, and I'm super happy to sleep in my own bed again. Our trip was almost 7 weeks long, easily the longest I have been away from home. The trip was amazing - we saw so many interesting things and met some cool people, but being in big cities in Europe makes me realize how much I like the big sky and green city we have here. Great to be home!

I'll try to upload some pictures to previos blog entries over the next couple of days. My time at home is going to fly by, and I leave next Thursday for South Africa (blog part 2!).
