We left Etsuko's house at around 10.30 this morning and headed to the Toyoko Inn we would be staying in for the rest of our time in Tokyo. Unfortunately, when we got there we found out we'd arrived at the wrong one again! Oh dear! The one we had made reservations for was in a much better location in Otsuka which is close to Shinjuku (the world's busiest train station apparently). We collected our things and got back on the train to find the Toyoko Inn in Otsuka. This one was very easy to find so we checked in and left our backpacks before heading back out.

We took the train to Shimbashi where we got on the monorail. This took us across Tokyo's port which was nice to look at as we crossed over the very impressive Rainbow Bridge. We got off at Daiba station and walked to the Emerging Science and Innovation Museum which is full of interactive displays and exhibits. Unfortunately though when we arrived we saw that it was closed on Tuesdays! What are the chances?!

We took the monorail to the next station and got off at Aqua City which is a big shopping centre. Jut outside the centre though, we spotted a replica of the Statue of Liberty overlooking the waters edge. We have no idea why it was there...maybe they have an affinity with New York? Anyway, we took some photos of that and the cityscape and then headed inside for a spot of window shopping. We found inside some interesting and unique shops. We were particularly interested in the Coca-Cola store which as you could probably guess just sold coca-cola branded products like erasers and golf clubs...very random! We also went into the pet store there and saw that they had a load of kittens and puppies for sale! They were so cute!

On our way back to Shimbashi, we thought we would try and walk back over the bridge to the next monorail station. However when we got there we discovered that once again today, it was closed to pedestrians. We weren't having the best of luck clearly! So we just took the monorail straight back to the centre of Tokyo, found somewhere for dinner and then headed back to our hotel for the evening. When we got back, we discovered that Rikki had misplaced somewhere his Japan guide book. This was a little worrying as it had been playing a crucial part in getting us around on the trains and such. We racked our brains for where it could be but couldn't think of anywhere...it was a true conundrum!
