We had a rather relaxed day today. We didn't get up until mid-morning and once up we just spent the day wandering around the shops. I was on the look out for a souvenir pin of Cairns to add to my collection so I dragged Rikki around all of gift shops I could find until I found the perfect one. We also had a few errands to run like buying food to take with us on our trip to Cape Tribulation tomorrow and also figuring out where we could store our big backpacks while we were away. We went to the Northern Greenhouse hostel, where we will be staying after our trip an found out we could drop them off there in the morning. For free - Sorted!

By about 3pm, we got some lunch in the shopping centre before heading to the cinema to see Oz: The Great and Powerful. We managed to get a backpackers discount on the tickets so it cost us about $16 which actually seemed like a fair price as it was a V-Max screen and in 3D (with the glasses included). When we got into our screen, we were both very impressed by the state of Australians cinemas. Everyone gets a big leather chair, a little table on your arm rest for all your worldly possessions and lots of leg room. The Odeon should take note.

We both really enjoyed the film although I think Rikki liked it more than me. I must confess there was a section in the middle that I may have slept through, but the ending was good so if you're thinking about seeing it, go for it :) After the film we headed back to Gilligan's where we had a quiet night, relaxing and preparing our bags for our Cape Tribulation trip tomorrow morning.
