This morning we left Surf N Sun and it was just our luck that it looked like the weather was improving. There was blue sky and hints of sun but there you go. We got a free lift with our hostel to the coach station which was really handy. The coach journey was only about an hour and a half, shorter than it was meant to be and we arrived in Brisbane with cloud and blue sky but no rain!

We stayed in the transit centre for a bit and I had a little food and we both read before setting off to find our hostel. It was a little bit of a trek to get there but that was more because of our stuff than it being that long a walk. We got there a little early for check in so dumped our bags in the luggage storage room and just sat around in their social area until 1 when we could check in. We got our key and headed up to the 3rd floor where our room was. It's quite spacious and nice although reminds me a bit of an old Victorian hotel in some aspects. The hostel is quite nice, the lift they have is rubbish though as the doors are manually operated so it was a little struggle getting in and out. There is an Asian in our room but I'm not sure yet if he is Japanese or some other ethnicity.

We had a short rest and then headed out to wonder around. I seem to have misplaced my glasses case and cleaner so we went to find the Specsavers. We also found the Typo here but none of the stationary was that appealing as the other stores. Whilst looking around, we found a food court and grabbed a snack. I found a Mexican takeaway place where I got some guacamole and nacho chips which was really good.

From there we walked down to the river and crossed the bridge. We found a very pretty hut which was a gift from a country in Asia but we have completely forgotten where it was from. It was really pretty though and we stayed there out of the shelter of some drizzles of rain. They didn't last long so we walked through a rainforest board walk which was pretty rubbish but we saw two lizards chasing each other. We also found the city beach which was by the river and was just like a mini beach. We stayed there for a bit and found a specialist chocolate cafe where we both had a hot milk chocolate. The cafe in Bondi made a better one though.

After that, we kept on walking and passed quite a few water features and also the botanical gardens which weren't anything fancy, before crossing the pedestrian bridge back over to the city. From there we came back to the hostel and have just put a clothes wash on. Also, we have booked to go to the Koala Sanctuary tomorrow (HOW EXCITING!) and there we can feed and hang out with Kangaroos and also cuddle a koala. We are so excited!

We will probably have a late dinner after our laundry is done and then sleep.

More soon - exciting post tomorrow,
