The sun finally made an appearance today so we headed straight down to the beach after checking out of the YHA. We got a nice spot down on the sand and set up camp for the day. The waves were much bigger than they had been the last few days so I didn't venture too far off the shore when I went in for a quick cooling off. Those waves are scary when they come crashing towards you! Rikki went for it though and came back to our spot dripping from head to toe! The water was so cool and refreshing and a good chance to wash the sand off. The one thing I dislike about the beach is the sand - it gets everywhere!

In the afternoon, we walked over to Bronte beach and spent a bit of time there only we stayed in the shade. We'd both had a little too much of being out in the sun. I was debating whether or not to ask for a picture with the lifeguards on duty. Rikki finally persuaded me to go for it and I got one taken with Reidy who gave me his hat the night before.

We headed back to the hostel and had a shower before packing our bags and getting ready I leave. While in the luggage room we met an English girl called Sophie who happened to be catching the same bus as us later in the evening. She has been travelling on her own all over Asia and now australia. She left earlier than us to get to the coach depot as she had to pick up her bike en route.

We went and got a cheap bite to eat then collected our bags and headed to the bus stop. It took ages for one to arrive, I worried we might miss the coach all together. Luckily though one soon arrived and we were on our way our of Bondi towards central Sydney. We made it to the coach depot with a load of time to spare and met back up with Sophie and waited for our 12 hour journey to Byron Bay to begin.
