Today we started off with pancakes! What a lovely way to start the day :) around midday we headed up Elizabeth Street to the Queen Victoria Market which is a massive indoor market with like a thousand different stalls. That being said, Rikki and I weren't exactly overawed by it. There was a lot of leather and generic stalls. I was hoping for more niche little stalls but No such luck!

We headed back into central Melbourne and caught the tram to St Kilda which is a little beachside suburb just south of Melbourne. It took us about 15/20 minutes to get there. We headed straight to the beach and got changed into our swimming gear. The beach wasn't the nicest I've ever been on, it was pretty small and the sand was a hit gritty but hopefully the beaches we visit will improve as we head up the coast. We had a quick paddle and proceeded to soak up some sunshine. After about an hour or so, the wind really started to pick up and it got a little chilly! We packed up our stuff and headed over to the Luna Park which is an old school amusement park. There was one roller coaster which is really really old - so old that it required a steward to stand in the middle of the carriage and pull a lever to make it work. Very old school!

We left the park and took a quick walk through the Main Street of st kilda. We took a look in a few shops and I bought a bracelet. Love a bit of retail therapy! By about 6 o'clock we were back on the tram heading back to the centre of Melbourne. We had dinner of pies from the take away place, Pie Face and chips from Lord of the Fries which were pretty tasty.

We only have one more day left in Melbourne - sad face! I think I speak for both Rikki and I when I say we have really enjoyed our time here. Melbourne is such a a lovely city and it seems like there is always something different going on. But we are really looking forward to arriving in Sydney early Tuesday morning!

As I write this, we are in our dorm room chatting to an English couple about books. Rikki is in his element :)

Until next time!
