After Franz Joseph it was on to Queenstown with 2 stops. One to view the Fox Glacier and the other for me and Jack to join some locals in a footie match and teach them how to really play!

Arriving in Queenstown we stopped for a free McDonalds (from an anarchist waitress!) and then booked into probably the most unfriendly Hostel in the world. I would name and shame it but I seemed to have blocked it out of my memory! the following day was spent chilling, and enjoying the new Star Wars movie. In the evening we met a couple of chris' friends from Indonesia who are working in Queenstown and may be able to get us reduced activities - stay tuned for more details!

The next day we decided to head up to Milford Sounds for a couple of days, allegedly one of New Zealands more spectacular areas. It was only a 5 hour drive from Queenstown but this trip was made slightly longer with a several obstacles inculding a herd of cows blocking the road and a landslide doing likewise!

We arrived at Milford and booked a cruise for the following morning ont othe sound. Unfortunately for me the power in our hostel was turned off at 11pm and with the temperature dropping quite dramatically in the night I woke with a sore throat.

This was not a huge problem in the morning as we boarded the boat for a cruise around what was, to be fair, pretty impressive scenery - huge mountains holding in a lake like area. The hightlight of the trip though were the incredibly friendly and huge dolphins in the Sound. Seeing our boat, twenty odd of them swarmed over to it and then 6 or so swam infront of it jumping in and out of the water right by us - check out the photos!

By the end of the trip my throat was getting worse so I drove straight back to Queenstown and booked myself into a nice and comfortable double!
