Hello Mom,Dad,Bro,families and friends,
I guess it is about time i type something in this blog box. I suck at typing so this is going to be short and sweet. So we did eventually saw the castles(from the car) and what i mean by that is we didn't even stop get a few photos of them(i think Richard was a little hung over)which we can all understand especially me. I did try to get some from the car which didn't turn out. That night we were invited to go out with Jen,so we did. Richard was also suppose to show up that night but he told Jen he wasn't feeling very well. She took us out on the town. The hostel had this flyer on the wall saying that everyone there had to be back by 2am and the doors would be locked.I thought is was a little bit baloney since we were paying 28£ a night but just like Pam i didn't want to be locked out. 1:30am rolled around so we decided to jet back to the hostel. I was walking normal but Pam started sprinting like she was in a 50km marathon run. I got back to the hostel and the doors were wide open,Pam to my right seating on the bench waiting for me and two dudes behind the front desk. So i don't think it was really that much of a problem but hey, you never know. The next day we didn't do much, do to the couple of drinks we had the night before. Did everyone notice that i said a couple of drinks not 150. We did end up going for Indian cuisine buffet in the afternoon which was super tasty. If anyone hasn't i suggest you go right after reading this. That evening we took it pretty easy in anticipating the wedding the next day. In the morning i got a surprise visit from Richard. He told me that Pam and i were invited to the dinner(before we were only invited to the reception/disco.) He told us to meet at the Cults hotel for around 2:30pm for some pre-drinks before the dinner. Pam and i were pretty pumped/honored to be able to take part in the festivities of a traditional Scottish wedding. So we take a taxi from the hostel to the hotel which was maybe a 10min drive(Pam had her super sexy high heels on which she brought all the way from home) so it was a good thing that we took a cab. We didn't want everyone yelling at her like, and you can fill in the blank. No just joking, she was looking as beautiful as she always looks. We arrived and i'm feeling a little bit of an outcast because mostly every dude their had a kilt on meanwhile i have a pair of jeans,a nice shirt and my sneakers. That quickly ended with everyone there taking us in as if we were apart of the family. We had a few drinks and then we got seated for dinner. Then the bagpipes started followed by the entry of the new bride(Deb)and groom(David) everyone was clapping to the bagpipes it was great. The speeches followed which were some of the best speeches i have ever heard. The dinner was great. It started with a fruit plate,a bowl of soup(cream of carrot),main course was chicken with roasted potatoes, carrots, peas, skirlie which is oatmeal, onion and boiled in fat and gravy.I was told that it puts hair on your chest. No haggis but we were told to try it because it was the season for it(maybe we will try it well we are here)well have to see what happens. I wasn't much of a Bryan Adams or a Celine Dion fan before this trip but i definitely am not ever going to be a fan due to the fact that a few people would be like your Canadian and start belting out a Bryan or Celine tune. After dinner we had a few more drink, met more people. This one couple Dave and Kaz offered us a place to stay at their flat which is super nice of them.We danced the night away taking part in some Scottish dancing, drinking and then there were stovies. Stovies are a mix of meat and potatoes that were mashed together served on the side were some beets and what tasted like HP sauce anyways it was gooooood and it was served as a midnight snack. We left shortly after that, taking a cab back to the smelly hostel. Pam and i had a great time at the wedding, everyone was super friendly and super nice. The next day i wasn't looking forward too. I woke up with you know what, Yes my good old buddy i call a hangover. I was in bed till around 5pm yesterday so ya he wasn't the most friendly. By that time Pam was hungry and so was i so i decided to cook dinner. I went to the grocery store, came back and cooked a couple of frozen pizzas! Hey it's not gourmet or anything, but we were hungry. Today we checked out of our hostel and are going to take that offer from Dave and Kaz. So much for being short and sweet and I hope you like my blog because it took me an hour to type this! We are going to upload some photos right now, Talk to you all later. I hope everyone is doing well.Cheers!
