Where I stayed
Leaving NYC we hang a right just after the Lincoln Tunnel to Weehawken where we can take a photo opportunity of the scale of the entire city of NY.
Then it's all steam ahead for Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PA). Passing through New Jersey there are not a lot of points of interest - just industry and not much else along Interstate 95. Speed limits range from 55 MPH to 65 MPH but if you are not doing 75 MPH or more you get overrun by the trucks.
We leave the I-95 at Burlington and track a smaller freeway through to Cherry Hill where there is a famous avenue that is lined for over 1 mile with pink cherry blossom trees. Unfortunately we are a few weeks too early and apart from one or two trees with a couple of pink buds, there are only a lot of flowerless twigs.
We are staying the night in Deptford - the New Jersey side of the Delaware River which divides New Jersey from Pennsylvania.
On arrival in Deptford we check in to the hotel and then proceed over the Benjamin Franklin Bridge into Philadelphia. We check out the Historical Old City and later find a trendy authentic Cuban restaurant (Cuba Libre) to complete the evening.
