What I did
Spencer Smith Park, Burlington
A slower-paced local day today. After a day of cool rain yesterday, the temperature climbed to 20ºC and the sun was out - so was the wind! I spent the morning walking along the lakeside and enjoying Spencer Smith Park - which was very pleasant, especially with it's avenue of trees in bright pink blossom. There was this lovely family posing for portraits with the trees in the back ground and a striking red-head taking self portraits on her iPhone.
I then toured the two main streets looking at the shops and many restaurants before heading for Emma's Back Porch for lunch on the waterfront. The beer, view and food were all good - thanks go to Dan for the recommendation.
After lunch I successfully got on the right bus to Burlington Mall for a look around the shops there before heading home. There is a flat fee of $3 and if you want to change bus or continue your journey within 2 hours, you need to ask the driver for a transfer ticket.
