What I did
Peacham VT

Today it is cold - only 5C (40F) and raining. Yesterday as I drove up into this area it was snowing! There are still pockets of snow and ice around in hidden locations where the sun doesn't quite reach. The skiing areas looked huge with pistes coming right down to the roadside in Bretton Woods.

I travelled into the neighbouring State of Vermont today to visit Peacham where they filmed one of my favourite films The Spitfire Grill (never released in the UK!). My Sat Nav directed me along dirt tracks in the forests and mountains of Vermont for a full hour before I finally arrived. I think staying with the map would have been a lot easier and much less scary. The car struggled to get grip going up some of the inclines - but i did manage to avoid pickups today!

Now I'm back in my Motel room watching the Fulham v Chelsea game live on TV - cool. I see Saints managed a win away from home and are closing in on automatic promotion for the second successive season. Well done them and Rickie Lambert.

Tomorrow I plan to visit more of New Hampshire's mountains - this is a very beautiful area. I'm glad there are no mosquitoes or black fly which I am told are a major problem in the summer. What is fun is when people ask where I'm from which enables me to say 'Old Hampshire' - it goes down well - although someone did accuse me of being Australian yesterday!

Watching TV here is frustrating. It takes about twice as long to warch a film because of all the ad breaks. Sometimes the same ad will be played 3 times back-to-back in one break - it is mind numbing in the extreme. The local cinema is showing Hunger Games  and Titanic 3D neither of which I am keen to see. Let's see what my next location offers.

Hi Duncan! I'm enjoying reading your blog - sounds like you're having such an amazing time! Having now watched the Spitfire Grill twice I'm very jealous that you've been to Peacham! - although I think it should be renamed Gilead in honour of the film.

Hope the weather warms up for you soon.

Going well thanks - off to Toronto tomorrow!

It was nice to see Peacham and the place for real. I think i too would prefer to live in Gilead.
