We weren't able to see very much along the coastline due to the constant rain all day.
We did stop for lunch where we had some really tasty fish and chips from the Fish Market in Bandon, where the sun shone for a while allowing us to take a walk along the pier. We arrived at night in Depoe Bay and checked into our tiny room at the back of the Four Winds Motel, the hotel was pretty dingy but Depoe Bay is "the world's smallest harbour" and is situated on a single coastal road so not much to choose from.  We went down the road to the Sea Hag a cosy little bar despite it's name, that was decked out with various ship paraphernalia complete with helm booth dividers and busty barmaids.  We had a filling dinner and then retired to our room for the night.

The following day the weather had cleared up a bit and so we got back on the road for the short drive up to the Washington Square shopping centre in Tigard, for some serious shopping as there is no shopping tax in Oregon so we made the most of it and maxed out our credit cards.  We then found a bargain hotel for the night at America's Best Value Inn in Portland, where we had our own suite which included bedroom, bathroom and kitchen/living area, it was like having an apartment to ourselves! Other than getting a pizza for $5 there is not a lot else to write about as we found the suite so comfortable we hardly left it for two days.  It was so nice to chill out for a while after being on the move.
