We just got back from our final bed check. Happy to report that all of the boys were in their rooms... sober, alone, spent. After the last winding bus ride from Whitiwhatever back to Auckland... we checked into our hotel, had a great final team dinner where each squad completed a 20 question quiz regarding the tour, had a member of their team come up with a final speach, and came up with a chant/ cheer... performed after Kangaroo Court under the street lamps of Albert Park.

All of the guys got into the spirit of things in an amazing way and we finished off the tour with a 1-2-3-PIPERS cheer at the park in the heart of downtown Auckland. Sounds corny... but it was great.

I think I can safely speak for everyone when I say that we are ALL looking forward to coming home tomorrow. These blogs have been rather eratic... much like the email services in the southern hemisphere. See what we can do about that when we get home.

Has to be said though that all of the boys were and are great young men. It was a pleasure to coach them and to be a part of their world for the past 17 days. Don't get me wrong... you are more than welcome to have them back after 18 days!!! And I'm quite certain they all feel the same way about us too. Especially after we pulled the electrical bars out of all of their rooms at bed check. It's the simple things...

Hope they had as much fun for the past half month as I did. One last note... Clarkey.... WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to say that I'm sitting happily at home with a cat in my lap and a beverage in my hand while I read these blog entries, and remember all the good times we shared. I hope that I'm speaking for everyone when I say this has been a trip of a lifetime! Guys, I'm hoping you will think back on these last couple of weeks with a smile and never forget the memories.

Not so great news! Johnny-Ray has torn his MCL and is out for 4-6 weeks. He's hoping to be ready for the playoffs. We'll see.
