Okay... this will be a two part email/ blog to make up for the lack of contact. We're sitting here on the beautiful... hallway... looking out over the soothing.... highway/ traintracks... enjoying a nice... cup of tea. So this stop isn't exactly Surfers Paradise. And the hotel isn't exactly the Gold Coast International... but we're in Australia, so who's complaining?

After a 12 hour bus ride yesterday and a bit of sight seeing today (gazing out at The Three Sisters (none were THAT hot) in the Blue Mountain National Park), the boys played our third match of the tour. Despite our best effort yet, we still ended up losing 21-10. The improvements made over the past two games... and the guts and determination put forth today made this loss a tough one to accept. And as difficult as it was to watch us shoot ourselves in the foot time after time, the bounce back and resolve within the boys was absolutely amazing to see

Kevin Leask decided he'd better do something to prove that he's not just a bball star and scored a great try after a ton of hardwork from the scrum to make it close in the end. Johnny Volette (what got into the bball guys today?) starred in the ten aside game prior to the main game making it look like we were going to absolutely destroy the opposition, only to be pulled off to rest him for the main game. Turned out to be a great coaching move as they came back to beat us in the second half.

This host school is a lot different from the previous two. Not many silver spoons stirring the morning tea with this lot. But a ton of character and the buzz this morning when we met up with the guys was a lot more present than before. Fun to see... and hear.

We've got a training session planned tomorrow at their version of the Grouse Grind. Will be interesting to see how many guys suddenly 'can't move' after a very physical game today. Actually, this training session might be more geared towards the coaches to deal with the excess bloat that was piled on after three nights in Surfers Paradise!!!
