Yep.  Sucks.  I am officially an alien.  No money, no passport, no phone, es increible. I was putting my bag under the bus in Madrid, with my other bag next to my leg, in the 5 seconds that my  back was turned, robbed.  All things "western" gone.  Plus the lovely journal from the last 4 months filled with thoughts and contacts and Arab, Turkish and Kurdish music suggestions.  Not to mention the ignorant person went on an $800 shopping spree on my card by the time I called to cancel the account.

We hold on to so many things and believe they give us importance.  Those were the most "important" things in my life.  I think about the girls I am with, the places in the world they come from where people have nothing.  India.  Russia.  Where some people dont know what an iPod is.  I sleep next to them in their room, feeling the energy of this worldview, trying to absorb the healing.

Meanwhile, for those faithful readers who still want to visit me on the blog without photos (no camera anymore!)  please say hello to your alien friend who needs a boost these days.

OH yes, and in case you were wondering.  It IS possible for someone to be in Spain the day of the World Cup without knowing it is happening until 2 hours before it starts.  Yeah, that was me.  Everyone cheering "Yo soy espanol espanol espanol!" and taking photos of each other decked in red and hanging from lamp posts and honking incessantly.  And when I arrived in Madrid the day after the game, my hostel was conveniently in the square where moments before the futbol team had made an appearance.  It took me 1 hour to cross the street.  And I got a bucket of water dumped on me from a balcony along side other Spaniards.

Praying for peace of mind out here in my beautiful beach Mars land with no sense of modern self.  Hoping to find the truer self underneath.  And to make it home in 6 weeks after I am finished working.

With love, un abrazo y besito.

Lori
