From Mesa Verde to Blythe was a short drive and we found it to be a pleasant little town.  Not much more than a stop sign in a canyon, there were a could of places to eat, stay and camp.

The next morning we headed north out of town towards mule canyon.  I only had a general idea where our next stop was.  I had read several hiking books about the cedar plateau, but it was still difficult to find.  But, man, was it worth effort!

There are several Indian ruins in the cedar plateau area, but the one I was most interested in was called House on Fire.  When you see the picture you will understand how it got its name.  It was a very easy mile hike to the ruin, along level terrain.  It wasn't easy to miss either,  all you had to do was look for all of the photographers!

Later that day we did a quick pass through Natural Bridges National Monument.  It had gotten late in the day and we were able to make the visitors center just before it closed.  It was a really good thing too.  We learned a valuable piece of information about our next driving segment.  The road from the park to Monument Valley had a short section of gravel road that switched back and forth, descending about 900 feet down the cliff face.  it was not recommended for vehicles over 20' and our RV was 36'!  So back around through Blythe we went.  We arrived at the Monument Valley campground minutes before they closed for the night.
