We experienced a wet, windy PEI storm overnight! The rain was pelting down and the winds were blowing and at one point early in the morning, Bill was a little concerned about Winnie's lid, but like the trooper she is, she weathered the storm with dignity! It's only the second rain we've had to endure since we started out! By morning the sun was out and everything dried up quickly! We were quite sluggish this morning, I was in no hurry as I wanted to see low tide at Augustine Cove! What a splendid sight, I was able to walk out for what seemed like miles in the tidal pools! Scouring the beach for one last treasure from PEI! It wasn't difficult to convince Bill to let me wander because he was busy on Facetime with his BFF, Dylan! I was feeling rather melancholy about leaving this beautiful island I've fallen head over heels in love with! When it was time to cross the Confederation Bridge once again, I took the wheel. Bill had driven over and I wanted to experience it's 13 km span too! It's amazing the distances you travel after leaving the bridge and you can still see this beauty looming over the water! We drove through a short section of New Brunswick and then into Nova Scotia. We stopped for lunch and a walk on the beach at Tidnish, N.S. Tidnish Dock was the sight of the Chignecto Marine Transport Railway that stretched from here to Fort Lawrence, 17 miles away! It was built in 1886 and the pylons are still visible today! Google this marvel if you're interested! Quite a story is attached to the construction and use of this ship railway! We carried on from here nonstop to Antigonish where we are spending the night and heading into North Sidney in the morning to get the ferry to Newfoundland!
