...Here I am ready to start the journey by pushing the bike peddles for 27 miles. It is cold and raining with a head wind.  I was told before this trip that going from west to east is an advantage due to the tail wind.  Riiiiight...it is not happening!!!  I am peddling hard but going nowhere.  I will probably move faster if I walk.

What do I expect really for an English Summer?  Not much!  A little sun would do... I think I am asking too much.  But I am here along with a few more people for a good cause.   Our team is raising money for CHILDLINE, a charity that dedicates itself to help children in distress,  http://www.justgiving.com/conqueringhadrianswall.
Who is complaining?  Bring it on!!!

...a few wrong turns and "Cycle Path" is truly out of the way and longer than the Wall.

Our team finishing at the destination, Irthington, turns out to be 34 miles.  My behind is no longer the same any more.  You guess it...soreness can be felt for days to come....
