I went back to my hotel and got a minibus to Dogubayazit (nicknamed dogbiscuit) about 150km north and then another minibus to th Iranian border. Crossing at the same time were a motley crew of mostly Iranians but a couple of people from Afghanistan and Turkmenistan and one person from England who keeps forgetting he is Irish (me).
I am travelling on an Irish passport (I can get one because my dad is Irish) as it is easier to get an Iranian visa with an Irish passport then with a British. It is also cheaper British passport holders pay 60 pounds to get an Iranian visa Irish pay 36.
A short que and a stamp in my pasport later I was looking at a banner of the Ayatollah and walked into Iran.
