Arriving at in the Southern Omani town of Salalah, we were not exactly sure what the town had to offer us.
Apart from the hottest sun ever there is a lot of dry stuff here.
We decided quickly that we needed a cool vehicle to cruise around in along the Omani coast. Abdul at the car rental agency offered us a turbo Hyundai Accent in three different colors which we glady accepted. The car does not only look cool, but it is fast as well (not).
Yesterday we drove towards the Yemeni border and found an awesome spot for brunch. With some delicious Omani bean paste we watched some dolphins playing around in front of us. Good start of the day. After this we saw a giant sea turtle but we do not think the turtle was very fond of seeing us...Along the coast towards Yemen we managed to get our pimped out vehicle down on the beach where we stopped for sun and swim. To our big surprise the car also managed to get up from the beach.
Today we spent the day driving around (full tank is about 7 bucks, water is more expensive than gas) the mountains above Salalah where we had to sick sack between camels and cows. So far our car has scared away most of the camels.
We have managed to embrace the Arabic culture big time. Down here we shovel our food with our hands and we also choose the left entrance to restaurants (reserved for men, thank god we do not have to hear any women chattering away at any restaurant).
We did not manage to screw up anything yet. The day after tomorrow we will catch a bus up to Muscat for some serious capital city rock n roll in the middle east.
All the best

And yes, Arabic women look fantastic, but they leave a lot to the fantasy by only showing their eyes.
