Three years after I originally planned to visit I finally made it to Lebanon. This time around Hezbollah and the Israelis cooperated by not stirring up any trouble. Walking along the Corniche in Beirut reminded me of Sarajevo with the bullet ridden buildings that have yet to be torn down and serve as a reminder to years of civil war. Beirut though is not a city of sightseeing but is more famous in the middle east for its vibrant nightlife which fits perfectly for the weekend getaway.

Like I said Beirut is not a city for much sightseeing, however, the rest of Lebanon has much to offer and can be seen in a couple of well designed day tours. Since this was a weekend trip I had little time to do any exploring on my own so I took a couple of day tours, plus with the nightlife aspect of Beirut it is nice to just sit on a bus and have someone else take you to exactly where you want to go. The first of which was to Bylbos (fort), Harissa (statue of Mary), and Jeitta (caves). The second was to Baalbeck (Roman Ruins), Anjar (Arab Ruins), Bekka Valley (wine tasting).
