Just got finished watching the USA Women's Soccer team blow it in the World Cup Final. The game wasn't working in my room so I had to come down to the lobby bar to watch it. The good thing though is there is complimentary WiFi in the lobby so I can catch up on my blogs. I've been in Seattle now for 3 days and fly to Biloxi, Mississippi tomorrow morning to meet up with my parents.
Since this is my first time in Seattle it was necessary for me to some touristy things in the area along with catching a Mariners game. The most interesting of which was taking a 1 1/2 hour tour of the Boeing Factory, which is the largest building by volume in the world, to watch the assembly of the 747, 777, and the new 787 Dreamliner. I also went up the Space Needle, however I found the views from Kerry Park to be even better. I couldn't come to Seattle and not visit a couple of cemeteries to pay my respects to Jimi Hendrix and Bruce Lee.
Upon completing my touristy things in Seattle I met up with Mark, a friend from Grad school and the UAE. I last saw him last summer just as he was finishing up his contract in Hanoi. We met up at the Mariners game and had a good talk about Kazakhstan where he and his wife are currently teaching. As for the game it was the third Mariners game (all losses) I have seen, however, it was pretty cool since they were celebrating the 10th anniversary of their 116 win team so they had many of the players from that team show up. Off to the Deep South and play some golf.
