We left Christchurch at 4pm and arrived at Hanmer Springs campsite by 9pm. At first, the140km journey out of Christchurch through the rural farm lands and straight roads was fine, until it got dark. Then the roads started to meander through the hillsides so it was hard guessing which direction the it would turn next in the completely darkness.

We arrived in Hanmer Springs safely. It is a small town of only 750 people, built around a popular hot spring which was discovered in the late 19th century.

After sleeping the night without a heater in the near freezing campervan we visited the famous glacier natural hot pools and spent the morning warming up. Some of the pools were 40c so once getting out in the freezing air we had to run to the next pool to warm up again. The views around the pools of the snow capped mountains were amazing.

I kdyz se mestecko Hanmer Springs  nachazi zhruba 115km severne od Christchurch cesta nam trvala docela dlouho a my jsme tam prijeli za tmy, rychle jsme nasli kemp a snazili se unsout, jelikoz venku byla hrozna zima a uprimne uvnitr karavanu nebylo o moc lip. Ale rano jsme se sli ohrat do mistnich horkych pramenu, ktere proslavili Hanmer Springs.Nachazi se zde nekolik bazenu s ruzne teplou vodou a take s ruznou hloubkou.
