Where I stayed
With my Aunty
Once we arrived at the border at 2pm we had a little bit of a nightmare. After getting to the Singapore Customs and having our bags scanned we were asked to follow the customs officials into a side room. We didn't know what was going on at first when two guys asked to see my document holder, which had my passport and other bits in. The other bits were two empty bullet cartridges that I had taken from the shooting range at the Cu Chi Tunnels in Vietnam. One of the officials picked up the bullets without even asking me and said "M16, am I correct?", I replied “correct”. He smiled and said that I couldn’t bring this into to Singapore and had the bullets seized
In the end I was questioned by almost twenty different officials/policemen for about one and half hours to see if my story matched up. I had my passport photocopied five times, I had to give a statement to the Police and had my finger prints taken. All this for two empty used bullets. We were eventually allowed to leave but then realised the bus we were on had gone. We had no money with us, our phone had run out of credit and there weren’t any cash points at the immigration office. We spent time negotiating with another bus driver to take us on his bus. As we didn’t have any Singaporean Dollars it was hard bargaining with them. In the end we managed to get the bus to the centre of Singapore, where we were picked up by my waiting auntie called Braema.
As we only had one full day in Singapore we decided to get the hop on and hop off open tour bus in order to see as much as possible. We left in the morning and by the end of the day we had visited Little India, Chinatown, Marina Bay, the Old Quarter and the busy shopping centre along Orchard Street. Singapore doesn’t look like an Asian country at all
The next day we took the massive A380 Qantas plane to Sydney and the southern hemisphere for the first time on our world tour. There were individual touch screen TVs with about 100 new movies. We also got a menu with different meals to choose from. To top it off there was the Sky cam, which allows you to view the whole plane as it takes off and land as there is a video camera on the tail. In the end, after watching three films, we didn’t sleep even though we felt extremely tired as we wanted to get the most of the flight, meals and drinks.
Andrewa, radnice, nevyssi soud, parlament a take pamatnik kralovny Viktorie. Zajeli jsme to Cinske ctvrti ci do Male Indiie, hned vedle techto ctvrti se nachazi moderni mrakodrapy a okrasne parky. Vecer jsme zasli na veceri s Philippeho tetou u ktere jsme take spali a druhy den rano jsme vyrazili na letiste, kde nas cekal let do Sydney.
