This will be a short entry. Left late (again! Don't know why I even give myself a time to leave) from the B&B, but stuffed full of pancakes and fruit!! Life's simple pleasures involve the filling and emptying of hollow body tubes...

The bulk of riding today was unchanging - flat prairie land, big sky, straight roads, and still cold! (again only around 14C). The rain held off until the last hour and a half or so, and then it rained pretty steady - the poor bike is drab brown colour now.

At one point I thought I got seriously ahead of myself as I saw a sign say Kandahar, 1km! I knew I should have taken the left turn at Albuquerque.

My goal today was to get to Lloydminster, a town right on the border of Saskatchewan and Alberta to track down my oldest brother, Stephen. He's working the oil rigs so it can be hit or miss to catch him when he isn't working or sleeping but it all worked out. We went out to Tony Roma's to stuff ourselves with ribs (the best!) and beer. It was great to see him and definitely made the day for me - the whole trip was worth it just to eat a meal with him.

Sorry, no exact mileage today (forgot to check) but around 870km.

Tomorrow with be a short ride - only a couple of hours to Edmonton where I will do some studying during the day and then link up with my friend Terry for a ride around town and a beer. I'm not going to bother setting an alarm - I'm on vacation, darn it and I'm sleeping in!

Hopefully I can get one day without rain...
