Sparks, Dav and I headed to Grand Cayman to learn to dive.
We stayed at a great dive lodge on the non-tourist east side of the island. Check out their website.

Diving in paradise was the idea, but... they did not send up our study material in advance so it was was 'hell with the palm trees' and hit the books for reading, videos and tests just so we could go diving.
Sparks and I pushed through it and got certified. Dav decided plam trees sounded a whole lot better than tests.
Our instructor was a guy named Mark. He was fresh out of the British Royal Navy as a Royal Marine and we were his first commercial dive class ever. He was intersting.
One night we mixed with the locals and watched their domino tournament. Talk about taking something seriously, wow. They meant business.
Even though there was not much lounging area for me and Sparky it was the fulfillment of a life long dream to get certified. And where better to do it than in paradise with a couple of great friends.
