Lakes Entrance to Eden via Orbost and Mallacoota. At Orbost we saw the Snowy River. We would see and or cross this a number of times on our travels. While at Mallacoota we had a look around and we found the bakery on the foreshore, the smell of the pies was too much we just had to have one. We then went for a drive through the caravan park and saw plenty of Kangaroo's just lazing about. Then it was off to Eden.
At Eden we went down to Green Cape Light house and we were fortunate enough to see some Whales making their migration north to warmer waters. The next day we saw 4 dolphins swimming just off shore at Aslings Beach. They hung around for 2 days before moving off. We also went and saw Boyd's Tower. This is a whaling tower built in the 1800's by Benjamin Boyd. Benjamin Boyd had a vision of setting up his own town (Boydtown) but the venture failed and he fled to California. At the Whaling Museum you can see Old Tom, he is a killer whale. Killer Whales helped the whalers catch the whales when they came through. It is a very interesting place to visit.
