Just about every night, just as the sun sets, I sit down in the doorway to my balcony. The guys from da hood plays football until itīs gets dark, below me thereīs a small dirt road, or path that cuts between the houses and the small (back yard size) banana and coffee plantation that builds this suburb to "down town Arusha" and it accurse to me that most of the “traffic” is made by the local women (Proud, happy and with curves as the path itself) they are carrying buckets of water upon their heads,  going there and back, from… somewhere, like leaf cutting ants on their way through a jungle.  Happy girls, talking and laughing, couple of sunsets later they start to take notice of me,(Iīm on the second floor, no fence) I can see them thinking “crazy mzungu, sitting there every night doing nothing) eventually I got a shy “Jambo”  (if you paid attention earlier you  know it means hello) they keep passing, says hi, still laughing, probably at me… I can live with that! There is a funny little fellow next door, heīs  2 years old, and as I sat in the sun in my backyard studying my books and taking notes, sipping my cold drink as a true mzungu he stood there, looking at me for several minutes, no movement, no sound and then as he figured me out, ran to me and sat down in my lap, I was ok ….and sat there for a good 20 minutes, not a sound and barely moving and then he just took off,  he keeps coming around, checking me out puts his hand on my arm…and runs away.  I like him… watch, touch and see what happens….

I wrote a text to a dear friend today, a piece of advice or just a statement, originally from a Simon&Garfunkle song, and as the last of sun set I can hear them sing.
 (I got my Ipod, Duuuh!).
“slow down you move to fast, you got to make the moments last….”
