The start of back-to-back days at sea - my favorite.

Back to Aqua for what is usually a bastion of straight cruises and never before hauled out for us - the "Bear Belly Flop Contest".  I guess adding bear into anything and you can get away with it.

You start on a 4-foot platform and see how much pain you can inflict upon yourself.  But the key differentiator for Allure is the addition of an underwater camera that allows for instant (and slow-motion) replay of the underwater dismount.  This allowed for "finesse points" - which ended up determining the ultimate winner.   Cheryl (from Grand Rapids and the one from Miss Richfields show) wore a set of bear ears and was thus qualified.  Her entry into the water wasn't all that painful nor loud, but it was the underwater boob-flash that got her the needed votes. The audience votes with fingers on a single hand and she got all 5's.

Later played some daytime blackjack - but timed it to coincide with Matt Yee's "Slut Tournament".  He had a microphone for the whole casino PA and took extreme pleasure distracting us all with sexual innuendos.  But I needed a good dose of Matt - and I got one

Came back to the room later to a note from Chris that he had gone to tea.  But the final tea was not until tomorrow.  I thought he was just mixed up.  Went searching across the ship for him - no sign.  Then I thought - well, if there is a tea it will be at the Aqua Theater.

As I approached I could hear the music.  Turns out Atlantis had come up with the BEST surprise of all - the "Instant Tea Dance".  Apparently Malcolm had made a ship-wide announcement that I didn't hear that said "TEA DANCE, TEA DANCE, TEA DANCE".

DJ was Brett Henrichsen - one of my favorites.  Wish I had been there from the start - but it was a fun and exciting surprise.  And since no one knew - no costumes required.  Just straight from the pool - as tea was always meant to be.

The nights show main was Cheyenne Jackson.  Many aboard admitted to never having heard of him before - but shame on them.  A Broadway actor who is openly gay and getting major roles is most definitely someone you should study up on.  He came out in a tux and performed a great set and discussed his life, background - even his partner. The highlight was singing the Ce Lo classic 'Fuck You'.

Later I came in late to see the final performance of "Blue Planet" - the 'Cirque Du Soleil'-like show.  Sat in the far, far left side of the house - and got an interesting view.  It was clearly something that they had worked very hard on and was very enjoyable - including the pop-songs they had incorporated.
