Last day of the trip, well, last afternoon. We have an early flight out of Guilin so we are staying one night here in this larger city. It's still rainy (surprise!) and the temps are getting even colder. The low will actually be near freezing tomorrow, so it is probably a good thing we are leaving. A local told us that they even get snow here! How is it possible to get snow in the same city that palm trees grow in? I would have liked to have seen that, but we are happy to be heading back to the mild Zhuhai.

Little do we know that a rainy storm and the coldest temperatures we have felt all year await us. Oh yeah, and our second power outage of the week. This time it is in our own home, and only our home. Somehow we shorted out the electricity in the entire house within hours after getting back. So much for Christmas movies on the couch. Ahh...the joys of living in a country where you can't speak the language.

Oh well, enjoy the photos. We are off to Vietnam in the morning where it should be close to 90 degrees. Cross your fingers for no rain! Merry Christmas to everyone!!!!!

As I sit in my living room in Terrebonne, OR - it is wonderful to be able to travel to China and see the amazing sights! While you are missed - it is so wonderful that you are able to share your travels and experiences with us! I can't even imagine being in a town with police everywhere and not knowing what the heck was going on!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!!!

Thank you, I 'almost' feel as if I was on the trip with you.
