KK, as it is known, is a necessary entry and exit point for the state of Sabah, and is the largest city therein. This doesn't mean there is a whole lot to do though and after a couple of nights, I was ready to move on. I did take in the local museum and engage in my customary city walk but the reason to come to Borneo isn't exactly for its urban attractions.
One thing that has struck me very quickly is how friendly Malaysians are. Plenty make the effort to say hello on the street and offer to help out if you look lost. Thankfully I have not yet been travelling long enough to be immune to such simple pleasantries!
