Hey Ho and away we go for the very last time - we are up and on to Singapore where we will be flying back to England later today.
We are due to arrive in Singapore mid-afternoon and therefore I have plenty of time to reflect on our travels since we left home last November.
Six months is not such a long time but to live as we have lived, see what we have seen and do what we have done has certainly been worth all the saving and planning - we have had a wonderful time and we are so very glad we did it. The whole trip has been a truly amazing experience.
Life goes on and we will soon re-adjust and return to our normal lives, but for the last six months the world has been our oyster and we have both thoroughly enjoyed temporarily stepping out of our everyday lives and living the dream! It wouldn't be everybody's cup of tea, but it has certainly been ours.
Having said all that, there is nowhere quite like home and we are so looking forward to seeing our family and friends.
Anyone who knows us both would have probably wondered how we would survive being in each others company 24/7 for 26 weeks - actually it's been surprisingly good and we have got on remarkably well, especially when you consider that for 15 of the 26 weeks we were living in the small confines of a campervan. Also, travelling gave us the opportunity to meet lots of people from a variety of backgrounds and differing nationalities, and we have had the pleasure of meeting many lovely people along the way.
Finally, before I sign off for the last time, I would just like to say a BIG thank-you to everyone at home who has looked after things while we have been away, especially my Mum and Dad.
Well thats that then, next stop good old England and back to our dearly loved, very precious and greatly missed family.
Pete will slot back into retirement and I'll return to work..............................until the next time....................
..............................maybe..............................who knows..............................
