Cloudy but warm today, so decided to walk to Sugar Loaf mountain - approx 7 miles round trip.
Very impressive - to get to the top we had to go up two cable cars but the views over the city, bays and islands were stunning.
Could also look across the city to Christ the Redeemer stood high above Rio, will be going up there before we leave on Sunday.
Pete managed to get a photo of me on the way up Sugar Loaf mountain wearing the travel garland - felt a right plonker and thank goodness nobody knew me - will try and download - fingers crossed.
Hotel is only one street behind Copacabana beach and if I hang far enough out of our room window I can just see the sand. Might spend some time on it if the sun comes out!
Thanks for the comments we have received.
