Thursday 9 October

Blenheim                            S 41° 30.0'           E 173° 57.7'

South Island at last. After breakfast, drove round from Seaview to Wellington, and spent the first half of the morning at Te Papa (museum). A short drive round the coast, then to the Interislander ferry terminal. T

he ferry itself is much like British ones (although I don't recall seeing lifeboats actually deployed before) but the scenery, especially on the South Island side, was magnificent. You come into Picton via Tory Channel and Queen Charlotte Sound, which include great views, seals and dolphins.

Then a short drive south to Blenheim, which is pleasant and in the midst of the Marlborough wine area.
