Finally, after 5 hours in the russian frontier and 1 hour and a half in the mongolian frontier we could pass to the second country in our trip.
The have just arrived in Ulam Bator (7.30 am) and in the train station lots of people were lookink for guests for their hostels.
We could find Bobby, a corean woman owner of the UB guest house, and she carry us to the hostel by car.
Our room is an apartment with 6 beds and a bathroom. After leaving our luggage there, we spoke with bobby about a tour around Mongolia. We decided to arrange one of 7 days (22-08 to 29-08) to see the south (Gobi dessert) and the Karakorum.
We checked all the alternatives to go from Ulam Bator to Beijing, and finally the best option is to take a flight with China Air (200 US dollars), because the other ones are:
- Trans-mongolian train: only on Sundays
- Local train from Ulam Bator to the frontier, there to rent a car only to pass the frontier (5 minutes) (not possible by foot) and then to take a bus to Bejing (total:36 hours).
We prefer to pay more (it is a really cheap flight, isn't it?) in order to win a day more in Beijig ... well and after so many hours in a train, we prefer to live as rich tourists for a while!!
Now it is time to see Ulam Bator and to buy some fruit and vegetables for the tour.
The Winter temple
Hello again.
Here it is 9.30 pm, and I have just decided to write a bit before going to bed.
The day was really hard because we slept only a few hours and we use the morning to arrange the mongolian tour, to buy the flight tickets, to buy some food and to see the city and the Winter temple, which it is a gem.
I decided to to carry with me my whole luggage, only a small back backpack with some clothes and some important things: earplug, mask, face cream, toothbrush, camera and, of course, the mobile phone in case we have coverage somewhere to send an sms to, well, he knows very well.
The 8 days tour costs 134.400 T (1 euro +1.550 T)so, very cheap!!
I am really excited, because since I was a child I would like to go to Gobi dessert, as Mortadelo and Filemon :-)
