31th July, Thursday
After having breakfast we took the subway to Battery Park in order to buy the tickets for the ferry that goes to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We bought it but ... it was full of people in a endless line!!. The ticket is valid for the following day, so we decided to take it tomorrow very soon.
So we were close to Chinatown an we decided to see the Synagoge, which is really interesting. Just to see a cristian church bought by the Jewish to convert it in a synagogue in the middle of Chinatown it is worth it and going inside is very good.
Just on the other side of Manhattan is the SoHo area ... good place to have lunch and shopping in small and beautiful shops.
The Adidas Store was ... different ... a DJ playing music and two PCs where you can connect to internet while sitting down in a dentist chair ...
The Greenwich Village and Chelsie are also beautiful, with small houses and lots of trees. Also, in the Washington Square park you can enjoy good street music.
and finally we saw the New Jersey nightfall from the Hudson River Park, it is a must.
To return to the hotel, we walked through the 8av looking at the Madison Square Garden.
1st August, Friday
Early in the morning we waked up to go quickly to take the ferry. Fortunately the line was small, and we did't need almost to wait.
After thet we had time to see the American Museum of Natural History where, apart of seeing lots of animals you can see films about different things. We selected one about meteorites, really good.
We were very hungry and it was late so, why not a McDonnals hambueguer in Central park and later on a siesta?
There we could see the John Lennon memorial and the Dakota Building where he was died.
2nd August, Saturday
All the morning (our morning in holidays means from 11.00 am to 16.00 pm)we were in the Metropolitan Museum. I think it is the best one I was in my life. So i recommed it, of course if you have time.
After it, we walked around the Central park, we walked through the 5av and we had dinner (after a shower in the hotel, of course) in Chelsea and we drank a mojito in West 13th Hudson Street, good place to go patying.
3st August, Sunday
Today is Sunday so the best day to go to Harlem to see Gospel in a church ... but it is the Fernando's birthday!! and we took our time to celebrate it.
After that we went to Harlem by subway and we made the tour that the lonely planet guide recommended
and walking walking we appeared in the Columbia University and in the Riverside Park.
We saw the Saint John the Divine Cathedral
and we returned to the hotel to take a shower and to dress ourselves very smart top have dinner in the River Café http://www.rivercafe.com
It is a beautiful restaurant nestled under the Brooklyn bridge with a excellent view of the Manhattan skyline ... uff, the best place to celebrate a romantic birthday.
And now nothing better than a walk thought the Brooklyn bridge looking at the skyline. Uff, really gorgeous.
4th August, Monday
Time to see the Bronks
and after that to relax in Central park.
The dinner was in the Bourbon street restaurant (46th between 8av y 9av). Beautiful place.
