Q-What do you get if you cross three hours in a bolivian train and two days on a bolivian horse????
A-dust filled eyes, a headache and an extremely red ass !!!
That said we have had a fantastic couple of days. We arrived at the villazon train station at 1pm to catch the 3.30 train. Loads of time I hear you say?......NO!!!! in Bolivia it takes two hours to get your ticket even though there are only 15 people before you.

The train ride itself is beautiful but dusty. We both ended up getting out in Tupiza with thumping headaches and a desperate need for a shower.
our second day in tupiza we decided to pretend that we were in the wild west. We slapped on our sunscreen packed a small bag jumped on our horses and off we went....

oscar was butch cassidy and I was the sundance kid but after five hours the cries of pain from oscar as his butt hit the saddle made our western movie more like nightmare on elm street. However it was all worth it when we rode through amazing scenary into a tiny traditional village where our host ellina cooked us dinner and, after a good nights sleep breakfast.

There was no running water so we put our unshowered red bums back in the saddle and painfully rode back, laughing and crying at the same time. Quote of the day......The fatter the ass, the softer the ride!!
