Its been an intense few days and its good to have a day off, although I still have managed to go to gym most days since getting back from Finland as I am waking at 5am and not being able to get back to sleep... so its around 5 hours of sleep a night for me, I don't think it will settle into a routine at all, since I don't really have one.

I got dressed in my windowless room, remembering that Wednesday was going to be a fine sunny day and decided to wear a dress for my catchup with Claire from Tourism Victoria in Hyde Park.  Dressing in a windowless room is like dressing in the dark!  Probably a bit too chilly but a bit of walking will warm me up.

It was great catching up with Claire and hearing how she has settled in, and was about to find out if she had a job with Transport for London in PR which means we will probably have some interaction during my work.

We have a leisurely lunch and then go for a walk, see the Princess Diana memorial and  2 hours later depart.

Wednesday night Im quite melancholy thinking of Dad, it's his birthday coming up and I feel a bit flat with the things that have happened over the week and the very small four walls of the hotel room.

I speak to Nick (Good Nick, not Evil Nick)  over Skype for a couple of hours, sitting in the hallway under the fire extinguisher and we arrange to meet at 8pm at the Purple Turtle on Thursday, out on a school night, oooerrr, but I don't have to at work until 10am so not too bad and pubs close early here in London.

I'm early but I'm late so I decide not to go back to the hotel and change, luckily I bought  a tshirt to change into and I just darken my makeup.  Only 15 minutes away Nick texts me that the Purple Turtle isn't open until 10.30pm.   Im about to get off the bus near Mornington Station so he says he will meet me there.  I walk down the street past the Purple Turtle, not being able to see Mornington Station so I call him back over.. When he walks over he floats, and god he is tall!! a tad over 6ft 3 with his boots on an long brown hair, we hug and head over to another pub for a couple of pre-drink drinks!

Its like no time has past and we hadn't been in separate countries for 4 years.  Conversation flows so easily and he gives me a copy of Emily Bronte - Wuthering Heights for me to read on the flight home as we had talked about it ages ago.    Soon its 10.30pm and we head to the Purple Turtle and have a few more drinks, 1.50 vodka and mixer, the music is supposed to be Alternative but it is more EMO/SCREMO so we decide to go for a walk around to the Devonshire Arms (now the Green Goblin)  it has barely changed in 4 years a few more drinks and at 1am we are ejected from the bar as its closing time.  I manage the night bus system home, and after the realisation I have had a few drinks too many Nick helps me to my hotel and I run laps around the floor before  going back to the Spaceship and to bed.
