We have seen Hatch Chille on packaging, menu and other places. Found out that Hatch is a town in NM where the New Mexican chilles come from.
So we made a stop at Hatch NM - Chille captial of the 'world'. You can buy a bushel of chille from vendor and asked to have them roasted on the spot. Some houses have chille on the roof. Also wreath made out of chilles.
The smell of the roasting peppers is awesome.. Saw the chille plants- red & green.. just like Christmas.
Pretty off beat ? wait....I read about Muffler man sightings on the web before. Then I saw one holding up a RV.. .
Stop at Deming for lunch ,on to Tuson.
